Brandon Smith ~ Headmaster
Mr. Smith serves as the Headmaster
of East Wake Academy. This is a dual role as
superintendent of the LEA and Principal of our K-12
school. The superintendent provides the administrative
leadership to all school personnel in carrying out the
goals and objectives of the board of education. The
principal supervises recruits and evaluates all school
personnel. He serves as chief administrator of the
school in developing and implementing policies,
programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner
that promotes the educational development of each
student and the professional development of each staff
member. The Headmaster will direct the capital campaign
funding programs, develop community partnerships and
promote grant development.
Mr. Smith will serve
the Director of Smart Schools Program to foster student,
staff and school success. Mr. Smith also serves as the
K-4 administrator in charge of student success,
attendance, discipline and co-curricular activities.

Darrell
Johnson ~ Executive Director For Student Services
Darrell Johnson
serves as Assistant Headmaster for East Wake Academy. He
serves as Director of the Senior Academy, Admissions,
and School Safety. As Director of the Senior Academy he
is in charge of student success, attendance, student
discipline and co curricular activities for grades 9-12.
In addition he will develop the high school master
schedule and coordinate the student schedules for grades
9-12. He will monitor graduation requirements and
develop programs that produce young people equipped to
embrace the challenges of their future. The Director
will supervise all Senior Academy personnel. The
Director will also supervise and monitor the admissions
policies and direct admissions procedures including the
lottery. In addition he will monitor family compliance
with the EWA contract.

Gayenell
Gull ~ Executive Director For Curriculum and Instruction
Gayenell Gull
serves as Assistant Headmaster for East Wake Academy.
She serves as Director of the Middle School Academy,
Curriculum & Instruction and teacher Accountability. As
Director of the Middles School Academy she is in charge
of student success, attendance, student discipline and
co-curricular activities for grades 5-8. In
addition she will develop the middle school master
schedule and coordinate the student schedules for grades
5-8. The Director supervises all Middle School Academy
personnel. As Director of Curriculum and Instruction she
will coordinate all staff development activities and
programs. Ms Gull will coordinate our efforts to improve
instruction and student performance. She will take
charge of the Mentor program, Initially Licensed
Teachers, teacher certification and renewal. In addition
she will work with teachers and administration to align
our curriculum K-12. She will coordinate the selection
of textbooks and instructional materials with the
Curriculum Specialists.

Paul Davis
~ Executive Director For Auxiliary Services
Paul Davis serves as Executive Director for Auxiliary
Services for East Wake Academy. He will serve as
Assistant Headmaster for the K-4 Academy. He serves as
the Director for Testing and Accountability, Athletics,
Technology Development and Facility Management. The
testing coordinator schedules NCDPI tests, attends
regional training sessions, conducts teacher and proctor
training sessions, organizes proctors for testing
sessions and ensures the school is in compliance with
DPI regulations for state testing policies. In addition
Mr. Davis will monitor and coordinate compliance and
completion of all state and federal reports.
Mr. Davis will supervise all
athletic programs budgets and schedules. In addition he
will develop a technology plan with the administrative
team and technology director for the campus. Mr. Davis
will also coordinate the operation of the EWA facility
and supervise special events and programs.

Lynn
Bradley ~ School Business Officer/Executive
Administrator
Lynn Bradley serves as the School Business Officer and
Executive Administrator for our LEA supporting the
Headmaster, Board of Directors and East Wake First
Charter. The School Business officer supervises all
contracts, school finances and budgets and maintains
compliance with all regulations for the LEA. She is
responsible for compliance to all state and federal laws
regarding finances, bank loans, charter school law and
personnel law. In addition Ms Bradley serves as the
budget manger supervising reimbursements, purchasing
documents, check requests and deposits.
The Executive Administrator is also the human resources
specialist, coordinating employee benefits (insurance,
retirement, payroll and employment agreements). She
provides staff with policies, procedures; reviews and
refers policy variations. In addition she responsible
for maintaining all records for the East Wake First
Charter Educational Foundation. The Foundation will
develop private and corporate partnerships to support
the educational mission of East Wake Academy.
