Admissions for East Wake Academy

Returning Students will begin the re-enrollment process in January. The re-enrollment packet will be mailed to student’s homes. Returning students will have two weeks to complete and return their enrollment packet to their homeroom teacher. Returning students will be given first priority for enrollment in the upcoming school year.

New Students will begin the registration process in February. Attendance at one of our Open Houses is required in order to receive a new student registration packet. East Wake Academy’s Open Houses will provide you with information about our school, how it operates as a public charter school of choice and the commitments required from both students and parents to ensure academic success. There will also be an opportunity for you to tour our campus and meet our teachers. Application packets will be distributed to parents at the completion of the orientation. Completing an application packet does not guarantee placement for your child. Your completed application begins the necessary process to enroll in East Wake Academy’s Lottery.

Important Notice: Students entering kindergarten in the 2009-2010 school year, your child must be 5 years of age on or before August 31, 2009 this in accordance with North Carolina G.S. 115C-364.

LOTTERY PROCESS

Complete an East Wake Academy Admissions Packets and return it during the specified times. Admissions Packets are entered into East Wake Academy’s lottery. The process is done using applicants phone numbers not names. The lottery procedure is pull phone numbers of the applicants based on grade level openings. Results of the lottery are distributed to all applicants by mail. Students not selected from the lottery are placed on a waiting list according to the numerical order in which their phone number was drawn. Future openings will be filled from the waiting list students in numerical order.

Dates to Remember:

Jan 16- 30 Re-enrollment for current students.

Jan 16 Re-enrollment packets mailed out.

Jan 30 Re-enrollment packets must be returned to your child’s homeroom teacher.

Feb 17 & 19 Kindergarten Open House 6:00-8:00p.m.both nights

Feb 23-27 Admissions packets must be returned during this in order to be placed in the Lottery.

Feb 24 & 26 Grades 1^st through 12^th Open House from 6:00-8:00p.m both nights.

Mar 2- 6 Admissions packets must be returned during this in order to be placed in the Lottery.

Apr 15 Lottery Day Time will be announced.

Mar 13 & Apr 6 Kindergarten Assessments both dates are teacher workdays. Letters will be sent home with the date & time your child will be scheduled to come.
